On the vinyl LP of Donovans Greatest Hits, which was release in l, I think Catch the Wind and Colours were in pseudo stereo and were different versions than the ones that are on The Essential Donovan and Donovans Greatest Hits, remastered in By davecospgs (Colorado Springs, CO).

Mar 31,  · The versions of "Catch The Wind" and "Colors" on this CD are the original folk (acoustic) versions, as opposed to the rock-band versions found on the original LP of the greatest hits. Why this was done, I don't know, but it's OK with me, because that is how I first knew Donovan, and his evolution into a rock artist had a similar shock value, although lesser, to Bob Dylan's.

Gene teams up with Meridian Green to produce a nice album featuring good harmonies. "Catch the Wind" and "Wind and Rain" are great. Gene has taken a different path. How about a second album?
