ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN Vinyl Records and CDs One of the (if not the) finest of the British Post-Punk exponents of the late '70s and one of the bright, shining lights of '80s music, Echo and the Bunnymen delivered a series of records that ranged from gloomy, muted blasts of dark guitars and moaning vocals to unabashed pop songs with glorious orchestral arrangements.

After previewing the album with a short concert on top of the HMV shop on Oxford Street in London, Echo & the Bunnymen was first released on 6 July as an LP and CD, by WEA Records in the United Kingdom and elsewhere and by Sire Records in the United States. The album reached a peak of number four on the UK Albums daibeledinghocompmavoxidizole.xyzinfo: Post-punk, alternative rock.

Nothing better epitomized the state of Echo & the Bunnymen themselves. Released in June, , as a taster for their forthcoming album, ”The Game” ultimately played its way into the UK Top Appears On.

It's fair to assume the band had poured so much into their previous records, that, when it came time to record this album, all that remained was a familiar shell. Polish replaces the darkness. The big hit "Lips Like Sugar" produced plenty of the Bunnymen sound, but none of the fury.

The fact that it was made in the early 80's has almost no imprint on the sound. The band is working together to create sonic joy with a sound that has emotional integrity. Its amazingly original. By contrast, many Echo and the Bunnymen records sort of follow a style - and the game plan is transparent. Not the case with Heaven Up There/5(91).
