Just arrived today (30 Oct. ; special Sunday delivery by USPS) and at 86 discs will take a while to get though. Charles Munch with the BSO was the first musical combination I ever started liking, and it has grown though the years (about 45 of them at present count), This is a release I have, almost, literally waited a life-time for.

Symphonie espagnole for violin and orchestra, Op. 21, with David Oistrakh (Russian and with no significant French ties that I am aware of, violin), also for this performance Martinon is conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra, the only non-French orchestra to appear in this collection of performances/5(15).
